The hotel is ideally located steps away from the Gran Via in central Madrid. The Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the historic area of "Los Austrias" are all just within close walking distance. There are also bus stops and metro stations within 200 metres of the front door.

The Regente Hotel is a somewhat old fashioned property, housed in an imposing, traditional building. Though some of the facilities are new, the décor – both in the 154 guestrooms and in the public areas – is simple and rather austere, with dark wood furnishings. Varying in size, the rooms are clean and decently maintained, as are the functional en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers a Continental style buffet every morning in its welcoming breakfast room from 07.00. There’s also a bar/café where guests can relax with a coffee or glass of wine. This is a good property for younger travellers and has a friendly, welcoming staff.
